Where can you configure status behavior for Ideas and Issues in Feedback Manager?

Shorter Loop Feedback Manager does not provide a "Closed" status by default.
Status behavior is controlled from Admin Settings → Categories & Status, where users can choose how statuses are managed for Ideas and Issues.

The system supports two types of Status control

Status Control Options

1. Import status from Shorter Loop

When Import status from Shorter Loop is selected:

The Idea's status is updated based on Shorter Loop's work item status.

The default status options shown in the Feedback Manager are the standard Shorter Loop work item statuses:

To Do

In Progress

Under Review

Done

These statuses come directly from Shorter Loop and appear in the status dropdown when this option is used.

2. Custom status

When Custom status is selected:

Users can create custom statuses to assign Ideas or Issues.

The settings screen displays two separate sections:

IDEA

ISSUE

Each section has:

A list of existing statuses

A + add status option to create additional statuses

Adding a New Custom Status

To add a new status:

Go to Admin Settings → Categories & Status

Select the Custom status radio button

Under IDEA or ISSUE, click + add status

Enter the status name (e.g., "Closed")

5. The new status is now available in feedback item dropdowns

Once created, the new status appears in the feedback item status dropdown, making it easy for team members to select and update statuses.

Using a Newly Created Status

After a custom status is created:

It appears in the feedback item status dropdown

Users can select it the same way as other statuses

The status will be available for both Ideas and Issues depending on where it was created

Closing a Bug Report

Question: What is the recommended way to 'Close' a Bug Report Support Ticket after I release a fix?

Answer:

Since Shorter Loop Feedback Manager does not include a default "Closed" status, we recommend:

Option 1: Use Custom Status (Recommended)

Go to Admin Settings → Categories & Status

Select Custom status

Under ISSUE, click + add status

Create a new status called "Closed"

When you release a fix, change the bug ticket status to "Closed"

This gives you full control and allows you to create a status that perfectly matches your workflow.

Option 2: Use Imported Shorter Loop Status

If you've selected Import status from Shorter Loop, you can use the "Done" status to indicate a closed bug:

Go to Admin Settings → Categories & Status

Select Import status from Shorter Loop

When you release a fix, change the bug ticket status to "Done"

This approach syncs with your Shorter Loop Epic status, but you don't have a specific "Closed" label.

Q: Will creating a custom status affect my existing Ideas and Issues?
A: No. Custom statuses are added to the available options. Existing items keep their current status.

Q: What happens if I switch from Custom to Import status?
A: The custom statuses you created will no longer be available for selection, but your existing Ideas/Issues will retain their previous status values.

Q: Can I delete a custom status?

Q: Is there a "Resolved" status I can use instead of "Closed"?
A: You can create any custom status name you prefer. "Resolved," "Closed," "Fixed," or "Complete" are all valid options.
