How to take Quicker Actions on Strategy Builder Cards?

Every card on the Strategy Builder canvas, Objective, Opportunity, Solution, Epic, and more, now surfaces its actions directly on the card itself. Common actions that used to take two clicks now take one.

What changed

Previously, working with a card meant clicking the ⋮ (three-dot) menu in its corner first, then choosing Open, Add Child, or Delete from a dropdown. That extra click, and the menu itself, is gone. All three actions now show up the moment you hover a card.

Step 1: Hover a card to reveal its actions

Hover over any card and three icons appear in its top-right corner:

↳ Add Child — opens the same create panel you'd have reached through the old menu, just one hover and one click away instead of two clicks through a dropdown.

↗ Open — jumps straight to the item's full detail page.

🗑 Delete — removes the item. Any children it has are automatically reparented, so nothing is left orphaned.

Step 2: Add a child from the hover icon

Click the ↳ icon and a search-and-create panel opens, scoped to the child types that are valid for that card. An Epic card, for instance, only offers Feature and Key Result, since those are the only things that can go underneath it.

From here you can:

Link an existing item — start typing and matching items already on the canvas show up in the list, marked with an icon for their type.

Create a new one — if nothing matches, click Create "[your text]" to add it as a new item under that card.

Generate with AI — where available, an AI icon sits next to the type, so Shorter Loop can suggest items for you instead of typing them yourself.

Step 3: Add several children in one go

At the bottom of the create panel is a checkbox labeled Add another.

Check it before you create an item, and the panel stays open after each one, so you can keep typing the next child right away instead of reopening the + icon every time.

Leave it unchecked (or uncheck it partway through), and the next item you create closes the panel, dropping the new card onto the canvas.

This is the fastest way to add a run of Opportunities, Solutions, or Epics under the same parent without going back to the hover icon each time.
