Hierarchy Rules

Standard hierarchy

The default parent-child chain is:

Objective → Opportunity → Solution → Experiment

Each level can also have Key Results attached directly.

Flexible hierarchy

Items can skip levels. The strategy map supports direct connections:

Objective → Solution (skipping Opportunity)

Objective → Experiment (skipping Opportunity and Solution)

Opportunity → Experiment (skipping Solution)

This flexibility means you can model your strategy however it fits your product.

How child ordering works

Children of the same parent are ordered by creation date (oldest on the left, newest on the right). This order is consistent across all node types -- if you add an Opportunity, then an Experiment, then another Opportunity, they appear in that exact order: OPP | EXP | OPP.

Reparented items (linked from autocomplete) are always placed on the rightmost position because their creation timestamp is updated on link.
