We've refreshed the subscription management and billing experience to make it clearer, more transparent, and easier to manage — whether you're on a trial or an active paid plan. This article walks you through every improvement, organized by your plan type.
For Paid Plan Users#
If you are on an active paid plan (Starter, Scaleup, or Enterprise), here's what has changed on your Subscription Settings page.1. "Active Seats" Label#
The seat usage indicator has been renamed from Seats Used to Active Seats. This label more accurately reflects the number of users actively occupying a seat in your subscription at any given time. You'll find this on the top summary bar of your Subscription Settings, displayed as, for example, 1 of 5 seats — along with a visual progress bar showing utilization at a glance.
2. Cleaner Pricing Label: /seat/year#
The pricing display now shows the cost in a cleaner, more explicit format. Instead of the generic label yearly, you'll now see $300 /seat/year — making it immediately clear that the price is per seat, billed annually. This is visible directly below your plan name in the subscription details card.
3. Full Billing History & Invoice Downloads#
Your Subscription Settings page now includes a dedicated Billing History section that shows a complete, chronological list of all past transactions — including credits, adjustments, and charges. Each billing record displays:Invoice reference number (e.g., PTI5MSNS-0001)
Description (e.g., 1 × Scaleup at $300.00 / year or Credit for Unused Time)
Amount with Paid status tag
Download button (↓) to save the invoice as a PDF
Use the download button (↓) next to each transaction to save an invoice for your records or to share with your finance team.
4. Self-Service Billing via the Stripe Customer Portal#
You can now manage your payment methods and subscription directly through Stripe's secure Customer Portal — without needing to contact support. How to open the Stripe Customer Portal#
1.
Go to Settings → Subscription inside Shorter Loop.
2.
Scroll to the Payment Method section.
3.
Click the Manage Billing button next to your current payment method.
4.
You'll be taken to the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can: add or update a payment method, view your full invoice history, and update billing information (name, email, address).
The Stripe portal is a secure, external page powered by Stripe. Any changes to your payment method or billing details made here will immediately reflect in Shorter Loop. Click ← Return in the portal to come back to Shorter Loop.
What you can do inside the Stripe Portal#

|---|
| Add or replace a payment method | Payment Method section → + Add payment method |
| Update billing name, email, address | Billing Information section → Update information |
| View full invoice history | Invoice History section → View more |
5. Modify Seats Panel Stays Open After Purchase#
Previously, the Manage Seats panel would close immediately after completing a seat purchase, requiring you to reopen it to confirm the updated seat count. It now stays open after a successful purchase, immediately showing your updated seat usage so you can confirm the change without any extra steps. To manage your seats, click the Manage Seats button on the top-right of the Subscription Settings page. You'll see your total seats and can add more directly from this panel.
For Trial Users#
If you are currently on a free trial of Shorter Loop, the following improvements have been made to make your upgrade experience clearer and smoother.6. Accurate Pricing Display on the Pricing Page#
The pricing page has been updated to more accurately reflect what you'll pay once your trial ends. Key improvements include:Yearly vs. monthly breakdown:
Pricing is now shown both as a per-seat annual figure (e.g., $300 /seat/year) and as its monthly equivalent, so you can compare plans side by side.
"After trial" estimate:
The amount you'll be charged once your trial period ends is now displayed upfront, so there are no surprises at billing time.
Cleaner seat totals:
The total cost for your selected number of seats (e.g., **1,500.00∗∗for5seats×300) is shown clearly on the plan card.
7. Smoother Plan Upgrade & Downgrade During Trial#
When you upgrade or switch plans while still on a trial, Shorter Loop now handles the plan change directly — without redirecting you to the Stripe checkout page for every action. This means you can explore and switch between plan options during your trial with fewer interruptions. You'll only be taken to the Stripe checkout flow when you're ready to complete an actual payment. When your trial is about to end, Shorter Loop will send you automated reminder notifications so you have enough time to choose a plan and complete your upgrade without any service interruption.
