Shorter Loop offers multiple user roles with different permission levels to accommodate various team structures and responsibilities.

Available User Roles#

Subscription Admin:
Full subscription access: Complete control over subscription settings
User management: Add, remove, and assign roles to users
Billing management: Access to subscription and billing information
Product oversight: Administrative access to all products
Portfolio Manager (Enterprise Plan Only):
Portfolio roadmap access: Create and manage organization-wide roadmaps
Theme management: Set up and organize themes across multiple products
Cross-product oversight: Strategic view across entire product portfolio
Enterprise feature access: Advanced portfolio planning and visualization tools

Portfolio Roadmap Capabilities:
Org Portfolio: Access to organization-wide portfolio view

Important Role Restrictions#

Portfolio Manager Access Requirements:
Enterprise Plan Only: Portfolio Manager role is exclusively available for Enterprise subscription users
Advanced Features: Access to Org Portfolio, portfolio roadmaps, and theme management
Strategic Planning: Organization-level roadmap creation and management capabilities

Role Assignment Process#

Users can be assigned roles during:
Product creation: Team building step during new product setup
User management: Post-creation role assignment through user management interface
Invitation process: Role selection when inviting new team members
Plan upgrade: Portfolio Manager role becomes available when upgrading to Enterprise plan
