Overview#
The Strategy Map includes a guided product tour that walks new users through the main features of the canvas. The tour runs automatically the first time a user opens an initiative and can be replayed at any time.Starting the tour#
| Trigger | Behavior |
|---|
| First visit to an initiative | Tour starts automatically |
| Take the tour button in toolbar | Replays the tour at any time |
Tour steps#
| Step | What it covers |
|---|
| 1 | Welcome — how objectives, opportunities, solutions, and experiments connect |
| 2 | Search — find nodes by title or external key; press Esc to close |
| 3 | Filters — toggle node types and highlight by status |
| 4 | Export — export the canvas as SVG or PDF |
| 5 | Anatomy of a node — type badge, title, external key, status pill, score chips |
| 6 | Click to inspect — clicking a node opens the right-side quick-view panel |
| 7 | Node actions — the three-dot menu for Open, Add Child, and Delete |
| 8 | Status rollup — the colored bar on parent nodes summarizes child health |
| 9 | Canvas controls — zoom, fullscreen, reset layout, and Collapse All |
| 10 | Minimap — drag the viewport box to pan across large maps |
Behavior#
The tour does not auto-start again after the first completed run.
The Take the tour button in the toolbar always replays the full tour regardless of prior runs.
On an empty canvas (no nodes), node-specific steps are skipped. The tour covers toolbar features only.
Each step has Next, Back, and Skip controls.
The tour can be dismissed at any point by clicking Skip.
