Removing an objective leaves its items on the original board without a lane — they move into Independent items rather than following the objective. If you want the whole group to move:
1.
Take the cards off first (they return to the pool).
2.
Then remove the objective.
3.
On the destination board, place the objective — it becomes a lane again.
4.
Place the cards into that lane.
Doing it in that order avoids leaving orphaned work behind on the old board.
Moving between a product roadmap and the organization roadmap#
Exactly the same rules apply — the org board is just another roadmap as far as placement is concerned. Remember to set SHOWING to the right product before you drag, so the work lands under the product you intend.
If you are retiring a board entirely, deleting it returns every item to the pool in one action — then place them on the new board. Export first if you want a record of what the old plan said. MoreRelated: Why can’t I find an item in the backlog?
