it projects your existing objectives, opportunities and delivery work onto time.
It doesn’t create new artifacts.

| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Columns | Time boxes. Either horizons (Now · Next · Later) or dated boxes (Q3 2026, Oct sprint…). |
| Bands | Groups of swimlanes — usually strategic themes. A band spans the whole width. |
| Lanes | One objective per row. The lane header shows the key, the title, a progress bar and an item count. |
| Cards | The work itself: opportunities, solutions, epics and features, placed in a cell. |
| Independent items | A permanent row in every band for work that has no parent objective. |
Tip: if you cannot find an item in the backlog panel, it is usually already
placed somewhere. See Why can’t I find an item in the backlog?
