The Shorter Loop Zeda.io Integration connects your product feedback platform directly to your product discovery workflow. By syncing Zeda.io feedback into Shorter Loop as Issues, you bring customer insights from Zeda alongside feedback from all your other sources.
This is a one-way synchronization from Zeda.io to Shorter Loop, ensuring your product backlog is enriched with validated customer feedback without creating duplicate work across platforms.

What Data Gets Imported?#

Setup Guide (Non-Technical)#

Prerequisites#

You will need:

Active Zeda.io Workspace: Either trial or paid account.
2.
Admin Access: To generate the API auth key from workspace settings.
3.
Auth Key: A secure key to allow Shorter Loop to access your feedback data.

Step 1: Get Your Zeda.io Auth Key#

1.
Log in to your Zeda.io account.
2.
Click on the Workspace icon in the side navigation.
3.
Navigate to Settings.
4.
In the side navigation, click on Public API.
5.
Copy the Auth Key displayed on the page.
💡 Keep it secure: This key provides access to your Zeda workspace data. Don't share it publicly.

Step 2: Connect in Shorter Loop#

1.
Go to Integrations in Shorter Loop.
2.
Select Zeda.io.
3.
Paste your Auth Key in the provided field.
4.
Click Connect or Save Integration.

Step 3: Import Completes Automatically#

Once connected, Shorter Loop will:
Fetch all feedback from your Zeda.io workspace
Create corresponding issues in your Feedback Manager
Display a summary showing how many items were imported

Important: One-Way Integration#

What This Means#

This is a one-way integration, meaning:
✅ Feedback flows FROM Zeda.io TO Shorter Loop
❌ Changes in Shorter Loop do NOT sync back to Zeda.io
❌ Updates made in Zeda.io after initial import do NOT automatically appear in Shorter Loop

Why One-Way?#

Zeda.io's current Public API has some limitations:
No Webhooks: Zeda.io doesn't notify Shorter Loop when feedback changes or new feedback is added.
No Contact/Company API: Customer and organization information isn't available through the current API.
This means the integration works best as an import tool rather than a continuous real-time sync.

Getting New or Updated Feedback#

Since Zeda.io doesn't support webhooks, changes won't automatically sync. Here's how to get updates:

Disconnect and Reconnect (Recommended)#

1.
Go to Integrations in Shorter Loop.
2.
Find your Zeda.io integration.
3.
Click Disconnect.
4.
Click Connect again and enter your Auth Key.
5.
The integration will re-import all feedback.
What happens when you reconnect:
✅ New feedback items are added to Shorter Loop
✅ Existing items are updated with latest information from Zeda
✅ No duplicates are created (smart matching by feedback ID)
✅ Items deleted in Zeda.io remain in Shorter Loop (they won't be removed)

How Often Should You Reconnect?#

This depends on your workflow:
Weekly: If you're actively collecting feedback
Monthly: For periodic updates
As Needed: When you know significant feedback has been added

Managing Your Integration#

Check Connection Status#

Go to Integrations in Shorter Loop.

Look for the Zeda.io card.
3.
A green checkmark or "Connected" badge indicates active integration.

Disconnect Zeda.io#

1.
Navigate to Integrations.
2.
Find Zeda.io in your connected integrations.
3.
Click Disconnect or Remove Integration.
4.
Confirm the action.
What happens when you disconnect:
No new feedback will be imported
Previously imported issues remain in Shorter Loop
You can reconnect anytime using the same or different Auth Key

Frequently Asked Questions#

Q: Will my existing Shorter Loop issues be affected?
A: No. The Zeda integration only adds new issues. Your existing feedback items remain unchanged.
Q: Can I edit imported issues in Shorter Loop?
A: Yes! Once feedback is imported as an issue, you can edit, categorize, prioritize, and manage it like any other issue in Shorter Loop.
Q: Will duplicate feedback be created if I reconnect?
A: No. Shorter Loop uses unique Zeda feedback IDs to prevent duplicates. Reconnecting will update existing items and add only new ones.
Q: Can I sync changes back to Zeda.io?
A: No, this is a one-way integration. Changes made in Shorter Loop won't sync back to Zeda.io. Keep Zeda as your customer-facing feedback tool and use Shorter Loop for internal prioritization.
Q: What happens to deleted feedback in Zeda.io?
A: Deleted items in Zeda.io will remain in Shorter Loop as issues. They won't be automatically removed when you reconnect.
Q: Can I import from multiple Zeda workspaces?
A: Each Shorter Loop initiative/product can connect to one Zeda workspace at a time. To switch workspaces, disconnect the current one and connect with a different Auth Key.
Q: Why don't I see customer names or companies?
A: Zeda.io's current Public API doesn't provide contact or company data. Only feedback content, status, and links are available for import.

Troubleshooting#

"Authorization failed" Error#

Problem: The Auth Key is invalid or doesn't have proper permissions.
Solution:

Go back to Zeda.io → Settings → Public API
2.
Verify you copied the complete Auth Key (no extra spaces)
3.
Generate a new Auth Key if needed
4.
Try connecting again in Shorter Loop

No Feedback Imported#

Problem: The import completed but shows 0 items.
Possible Reasons:
Your Zeda workspace doesn't have any feedback yet
The Auth Key doesn't have proper permissions
Solution:

Check your Zeda.io workspace to confirm feedback exists
2.
Verify your Zeda account has admin access
3.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Some Feedback is Missing#

Problem: Not all Zeda feedback appears in Shorter Loop.
