How do I change a time box’s start and end dates?

Only Fixed Time Boxes roadmaps have dates. On those:

Click the ⋯ on the column header.

Edit Starts and Ends.

Click Save.

Dates display in a readable form — 01 Jul 2026, 30 Sept 2026.

What changes, and what doesn’t

Changing a box’s dates changes the period the column represents. It does not
change any item’s own start or end dates, and it does not move cards between
columns. A card placed in that box stays in that box.

That has one visible side effect worth knowing: if an item’s own dates used to
agree with the box and no longer do, the card will start showing the
dates-don’t-match warning. That is the system telling you the truth, not

Both dates are required

A timeline box cannot exist with only one date. Clearing one and saving gives:

A time box on a timeline needs both a start and an end date.

Overlapping boxes

Shorter Loop does not stop you creating boxes whose ranges overlap — sometimes
that is exactly right (a quarter and a hardening sprint inside it). Just
remember that a card lives in the box you drop it into; overlapping dates do not
place anything automatically.

Why can’t I set dates on my Now · Next · Later columns?

Because that format deliberately has none. The editor says so:
