Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Generate Your Aha! API Key

To securely connect the two platforms, Shorter Loop needs an API Key from Aha!.

Navigate to Settings > Personal > Developer.

Under the API Keys section, click + Generate API Key.

Give the key a name (e.g., "Shorter Loop Integration") and copy the API Key string. You will need this in the next step.

Step 2: Connect Shorter Loop

Find the Aha! integration card and click Connect.

Enter your Domain: This is your Aha! subdomain (e.g., if your URL is mycompany.aha.io, enter mycompany).

Paste your API Key: Enter the key you generated in Step 1.

Click Next.

Step 3: Select Products and Map Fields

Once connected, Shorter Loop will fetch your available Aha! Products/Workspaces.

Select Products: Choose the specific Aha! Products (Workspaces) you want to sync.

Map Work Item Types:

If you choose to Unlink or Disconnect:

We will automatically remove the webhook from your Aha! account to stop sending data.

The synchronized links will be removed, but your Shorter Loop items will remain (unless you choose to delete them).

Does it support custom fields?

Yes. The integration dynamcially discovers custom fields from your Aha! account during the mapping step.

Why are my changes in Shorter Loop not showing in Aha!?

This is a one-way integration from Aha! to Shorter Loop. Changes made directly in Shorter Loop are not pushed back to Aha! to prevents conflicts and ensures your planning tool (Aha!) remains the distinct master record.
