How do I view and explore item details on the Strategy Map?
The Strategy Map is not just a visual overview — it's a fully interactive navigation tool.Clicking on any card opens a quick-view panel on the right side of the screen, showing you that item's key details and its direct connections to other parts of your strategy. From there, you can navigate deeper or open the full detail page with one click.
Step 1: Click on Any Card to Open the Quick View Panel#
On the Strategy Map canvas, click on any card — an Objective, Opportunity, Solution, Experiment, or Metric/KPI.When you click a card:
The selected card gets a highlighted
A detail panel slides in from the right side of the screen
Unconnected cards dim slightly, while the selected card and its direct connections remain fully visible
The detail panel gives you a quick summary of the item without leaving the canvas. Here's what you'll see:
Item ID and Title — Displayed at the top of the panel (e.g., OBJ-1 / Increase qualified lead acquisition).
Type and Status Badge — Shows the item type (Objective, Opportunity, etc.) and its current health status (Healthy, Unvalidated, At Risk, or Blocked).
Alignment — For Objectives, this shows the strategic alignment level (Low, Medium, High).
Connections — A list of all items directly connected to this card. For example, an Objective will show the Opportunities linked to it. Each connection is listed by ID and name, and is clickable.
Inside the Connections section of the detail panel, you'll see all items directly linked to the selected card.
Click on any connection to jump to that item's detail panel directly — without closing the current view or going back to a list.
This lets you trace your strategy thread by thread: from an Objective → to its Opportunities → to the Solutions being built → to the Experiments validating them.
At the bottom of every quick view panel, you'll find a "View Full Details" button with an external link icon.Clicking this opens the complete detail page for that item — the same page you'd see if you navigated to it directly through Product Strategy or the Opportunities section. From the full detail page, you can:
Edit the item's name, description, and status
Add or update scores, owners, and alignment
View linked experiments, key results, and notes
