# Connection Path Labels

## Overview

Every connection line on the Strategy Map displays a label that describes the relationship between the two connected nodes. Labels are auto-computed based on the source and target node types — you do not set them manually.

## Label values

| Objective → Experiment | drives |

| Opportunity → Experiment | enables |
| Solution → Experiment | validates |
| Any → Key Result / Metric | measures |
| Cluster → Opportunity | informs |
| Persona → Opportunity | informs |

## Visual appearance

Labels are styled as **pill badges** positioned at the midpoint of the connection line. Each badge shows the relationship word in lowercase.

## Zoom-level visibility

Labels are only visible at focus zoom level (≥ 80%). At overview (50–79%) and mini (< 50%) zoom levels, labels are hidden to keep the canvas readable.

## Disconnecting a connection

Hovering over a connection label reveals a small **×** icon. Clicking it opens a confirmation dialog to remove the connection. See [Edge Disconnect](./24-edge-disconnect.md) for full details.
